I had a 5 acre lake built last year it is about half full it is a drop inlet type with an emergency spillway just in case. My question is how far over the drop inlet pipe should the water rise before it starts to run down the emergency spillway. I hope this question makes sence and thanks for any info.

According to Basic Pond Management by Bob Lusk & Mark McDonald the answer is one foot.
