Our feed store does not have the catfish sinking food. What is the next best thing? My water temp. is below 50 degrees. Is dog food ok for the fish? :p

Tony when my catfish quit eating the floating food in the fall I just quit feeding until the spring. I still throw a handfull every evening after work for the minnows and my own enjoyment and every few nights a couple of cats will hit the surface. In the spring when they start attacking the handfull of food then I start feeding normally. PS all the dog food I have tried floated alongside the fish food but the fish loved it just as well. Bob

Tony, Colder water, fish sluggish. Sluggish fish, less eating. Less eating, less food. Listen to your fish, and back off until March. Your fish won't suffer. As water temps rise next spring, and approach 55 degrees, F., start presenting floating feed again. When it's time, they'll come.
Teach a man to grow fish... He can teach to catch fish...
