What are the little bumps on them?

I have seen bumps like that before. I do not know how they get them. For example if they are acquired and may be scar-like features or if the origin is genetic in nature. Just don't know but I have seen that and also wondered why.

Oh, cool! What sort of sense? I know lots of organisms have sensory we don't such as lateral lines and ampullae of Lorenzini. Now I'm wondering about what crawdads can do!

Hey all you book readers. I'll recommend something for you. An Immense World by Ed Yong, How animal senses reveal the hidden realms around us.
Fascinating, in depth, (into the weeds perhaps), dive into animals' senses, some of what we share and many that are not ours to experience. It's rather eye opening and thought provoking.

I think mostly smell but they have features built in for vibration also.
