Took my 11 year old son fishing on my 25 acre pond Sunday evening and early Monday morning. Fished mostly top water.
1. Sunday evening.... fair to good. He was really enjoying catching and seeing the bass boil up under the top water.
2. Monday morn.... Excellent!!!!started at 6:00 am and quit at 8:30 am The first bass I caught was a 4.3 lb on a buzz bait. We fished only top water and boated about 25 and lost about 7. What a great time... The lake is two years old this month. \:\) and we are still grining from ear to ear.

wayne1,
You don't have a pond, you have a lake. \:\) .
BrianC,
My pond is only a year old, but I have caught a hundred or so Coppernose bluegill. I have released all of them so far. I intend to start taking some out after they spawn a few times.
Fishing is good. \:D

The fishing has been great. We have been catching a lot of 5-8lb. bass. Most of these come out of the tree reefs that we built the last couple of years. We are using 10.5" power bait worms (all colors).
5-18-02 I caught an 8lb bass
5-25-02 my wife caught a 8lb bass
5-27-02 a friend caught 16 bass out of his first 18 cast. One bass was 6.5lbs.
6-1-02 a friend caught 5.5lb and 7.5lb
95% of our fishing trips this year produced at least one bass over 5lbs. \:\) \:\)

I would love to hear more about your renovation.
And pictures if you have them. My pond is 28 yrs.
old and it doesn't have the depth or contours that it once had. Fishing is still good so I'm not ready yet but the day will come. Any information that you can share would be appreciated by me and I'm sure others as well.

If I ever get smart enough with this computer then I will start sharing pictures along with
my experiences.

you worse day of fishing beats your best day at work! been using some waterdogs - caught 13 lb catfish and 6 lb bass - only big fish can take the waterdog so you dont catch as many but when you do, hang on! Also grape plastic worms doing well with bass.
