I have some floating algae mats along my shoreline along with more algae underwater near the banks - when I apply the Cutrine do I just spray it on top of the mats? To kill the algae under water can I just spray it on top of the water or do I have to put the sprayer wand underwater ? Thanks

Tim, I deleted your other post so your replies can stay on this post.
If there's any breeze or waves at all, I treat the underwater algae with the wand tip underwater. The surface movement can cause drift, and not target what you were wanting.

For deeper applications, I use the Granules.

Granules used in water deeper than 24", liquid used in shallower water. Try and use a strong enough water stream with the liquid mixed at the rate of 1 gallon to 9 or 10 gallons of water to break up and/or penetrate the mats. Watch the application rate that is on the bottle for both liquid and granular, and have at it. Spray from shore out to deeper water so fish can escape the algaecide if needed.

Esshup thanks so much for the info - I used a rake on the big mats and then sprayed the floating that was left - treated half of the pond today with the granular and will treat the other half in several weeks -
this happens every spring - I have a wet weather spring that runs off and on - I am the last pond in a string of 3-4 ponds upstream so I am getting the run off from all of those - guessing that adds to my algae issue every year?
