Can someone tell me what I should expect in regard to the cost of using clay to line a pond? Maybe a per acre estimate?

Thanks.

Do you have clay on site or does it have to be trucked in?

With fuel like it is around here one load is over 300 bucks. How big will your pond be? Maybe some of the smart ones can give you an estimate of how much clay will be required

Well 43560 sqf. to an acre so 1 foot thick ( 2 lifts ) or 1613.33 cubic yards. So truck holds 12 to 20 yards of clay. So you can expect a large bill. Clay cost $6 to $12 yard and delivery $6 to $10 a mile. Cat and roller $190 to $225 an hour. Your local prices may be deferent.

61 acre water shed lake. bass, channel cat, black crappie, wiper, walleye, redear sunfish, blue catfish and bluegill. To many bullhead and common carp

We would have almost as good a chance at telling you what your house is worth. need a ton more information. As an excavating contractor my best guess would be between $1000.00 and $100,000.00
Inevitably I get asked a lot of times what a pond would cost me. without any idea of what size, what terrain, what ground cover, or what type of soil I would be dealing with I have no idea, your guess is as good as mine.

All the really good ideas I've ever had came to me while I was milking a cow.
