Is there a number of turtles that can be detrimental? I have a 1 acre pond and counted 40 red ear sliders or painted turtles last night when feeding. I have began feeding at the same time and same spot for a couple of weeks now and still see no sign of my 1 year old channel catfish or bluegill. Its possible they are just waiting on me to leave but I was also curious if those young fish might be too shy to get close to those turtles? When i throw feed in it looks like a turtle army coming at me.

I don’t have any problems with turtles stopping the bg from feeding actually the other way around. As far as catfish mine have never Hoovered the feed in fact never seen one come to it. Not sure why unless there is plenty for them without the feed….
I welcome all the turtles that show up even snappers

My turtles join right in with the fish. Try finding at dark. My cats (3 or 4) seem to be more active then.

Thats a great idea. I actually have a huge light that lights up the entire pond at night too. I really dont mind the turtles as long as they arent effecting the fish.
