Years ago I bought a fish finder that was all in one piece. Basiclly the transducer was on a "pole" that you could attach to your boat similar to a trolling motor. The screen was on top of the pole so all you did was drop it off the side of your boat and the pole could be attached to the side of the boat. (by the way this is for a john boat)
All I can find now are finders where you have to attach the transducer to the boat and have a wire running up to the screen.
Does anyone know if they still make the simple one like I described? Thanks

Sounds something like the Hummingbird Smart Cast.
