new here, hello everyone. looking for insider knowledge. have gotten 8 inches of rain in two days. my pond at downstream has a pasture with 5 1500 pound steers. i have my pond overexaggerated brimmed alongside of and upstream of this drainage ditch/stream... well we got so much rain so fast, that this stream actually coming over the pasture breached the lower downstream side brim from overflow... it is a grass covered 3 acre pasture and a .60 acre pond 12 foot deep... the kids want to go swimming, how long should we wait? or have it tested for bacteria? thanks!

If cow manure had much in it to worry about, I'd have been dead 30 years ago. I've had it flung everywhere while working cattle including my eyes, nose, and mouth. Not to mention that we have swam (swum???) in a pond that is surrounded on two uphill sides by cattle pasture.
I guess if there were chunks floating in the water. I'd wait a while. Just my opinion.

Lots of difference in cow manure and BS Theo.
But, gotta agree. I personally wouldn’t sweat it.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Lots of difference in cow manure and BS Theo. You mean "in" or "between"?
