First time seeing this. This morning saw a LARGE cnbg that would have been at least 10 inch long floating at the ponds edge. It looked like someone just cut the head completly off. It was very fresh and still had pretty color. I looked it over very well and saw no stab marks or anything wrong with the rest of the fish. It looked nice and fat and healthy. But the complete head was gone!! Any ideas? I do have a GBH that hangs out. Could he have done that?

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Turtle fast enough to catch a bluegill? Why would he just eat the head? My pond is only 2 acres and the largest turtles i have ever let stay in the pond are only about the size of a dinner plate. All red eared sliders I believe. You know...I just thought of this...Yesterday we did get 3 1/2 inch rain and my pond is running hard over the spillway. Possibly that fish got hung up somehow and a turtle did grab him??
