Tony, Unless your pond is very shallow 5-6 ft. Look at a Vertex Air 1 with a rocking piston (WOBL) pump.A rotary vane will be a bit quieter but is a lot more $$ and more pump than you may need.Try to stay away from using airstones. Fill out the online form at vertexwaterfeatures.com and they will fix you up with a dealer. Ted

here's another thought; the rotary unit is more cash, you get what you pay for.... the rotary unit pushes almost three times the air,the only draw back would be your depth. rotary is only good up to about 18', most ponds are not that deep. you would not have to run the rotary unit as much as the rocking unit, about a third less operating time to get the same results, which means you use alot less electricity. the power consumption is about the same for both. in long run you'll save tons on your electric bill. do plenty of research on installation, running depths and times for greatest use and no headaches.

As far as getting what you pay for, I would compare the rubber membrane diffusers and stones against the Mix Air line of diffusers. Web site is mixairtech.com. They are more expensive, but testing results are awesome. We sell more of these than discs or stones combined. I would be skeptical of any testing results you read about when it comes to water parameters, so use some common sense in any situation. Robert B fishmgr@hotmail.com
