This is what a pond caught walleye on a cold winter's day does for your smile. What was the bait?

The lure was a vertical ice jig called the Frostee. It was a glow green and white one with a #6 hook, and a 2" minnow hooked through the back. 4lb test mono line. Actually Jeff had not glowed this jig up for a long time, but the water is so clear in Dwight's pond, the walleye saw it, I am guessing, no problem. What a nice fish. Let her go after this pic, and a measuring.
Good morning Dave, I've checked the ships systems, and everything appears to be running normally.

How many Hamm's did it take to catch her?

Sweet! A nice walleye and Sasquatch sighting all in one thread!

18 inch LMBs are still biting in the winter. Ice isn't a limitation, it is an enabler. The stick caught this one. Cody Note - That is pretty good body condition for an under ice northern LMB. How thick is the ice? I had some open water today Jan 19. Relatively warm here in NW Ohio so far this winter.

Ice is eleven inches. Even though we are also having a mild winter, the ice slowly thickens. Sunil, They say with age comes wisdom. I have found it wise to bring a Bloody Mary and three Hamms along. This way, after four or five hours of fishing I can safely pack up, drive home. and stay vertical on the ice!!!

"Bloody Mary and three Hamms"
Sounds like a band I used to see...they were an odd mix of Goth, Vegans, and alcoholics.

Dwight,
I looked back a little bit and didn't see anything. Do you not have to run any aeration in your pond?

I run a 1/2 hp circulator to keep the area around our dock open. it runs a few times each day for 30 minutes each time. No real aeration.
