My hatchery pond had this pop up over the last several days, and it's not an algae I'm familiar with, so any ID help would be appriciated.

I did a water transfer from my big pond to my hatchery pond, had a nice bloom for 3-4 days, and this started showing up the day before yesterday. There's no structure to this algae, and almost dissolves if touched. It's all around the pond, so my guess is that it's not accumulating via wind.

Thanks, Al

I have no idea but i might try taking some of it and place it in a large container treat it with algicide and see what happens. How fast is it growing?

Tracy, I already checked this morning, and it's in decline. Since there's nothing in that pond fry wise, I just treated it with Aquashade to kill the bloom. This morning the pond was crystal clear, and that wormy looking stuff was probably 25% of what it was yesterday morning. It didn't sink or turn brown, it just dissolved. If I start seeing a sketchy bloom in the big pond, I'll use Cutrine for that.
