I had a guy over yesterday showing me how to throw my cast net off the dock. In 4 casts he netted 28 shad of various sizes. These should be good bass bait right?

Those are golden shiners and are excellent bait.

Agree with Acoursey, those are shiners. The bigger fish at the top looks like a crappie.

Shiners for sure. They're the best bass bait in my pond.

We put some on our hooks and got great results. I'm sure you did TBar but those of us working all up on a Sunday need PICTURES please! In all seriousness please remind me if you've managed to keep a shiner population alive in a LMB pond or if this is a forage pond situation.

In all seriousness please remind me if you've managed to keep a shiner population alive in a LMB pond or if this is a forage pond situation. They are holding their own. I have observed two different times(2 different years) them going over the spillway after heavy rains. I will get a net and a bucket next It happens and put them back in the pond.
