Has anyone ever made something on the bank of their pond to use to winch small boats up and out of the water? Kind of a poor mans dry dock. I am thinking of putting a couple of treated 4" x 4"s down on the ground, angled up and out of the water...with sand or pebbles around them and then a vertical 4" x 4" with a winch/tow strap on it to wind the small craft up and out of the water.
If anyone has any plans or experience doing this, that would be appreciated. TIA.
