It's finally stopped at 9.36 inches in the last 10 days. Roads and driveway are once again washed out and I'll be using the FEL to bring rocks to fill and repair.

But, my pond went from 5.5 feet low to overflowing. And, Spring rains haven't hit yet.

Congrats Dave. Just heard we had the wettest Feb ever, 8.6" above normal. Glad it finally hit Bowie.

We ended up with 19 inches of rain in 5 days!! And it rained a little this morning. Water been going over the spillway for 8 days now. Still getting some runoff from up the hills. Water temp has been in at least the 60's for 16 straight days now!! I have no visible proof because my water is muddy but I suspect the lmb have got to be thinking about spawning!! Glad you guys are getting your ponds full. My water has gone way behind the sawgrass that previously lined the bank. I hope the lmb love that for spawning. I'm excited to see activity!!

Flame, after the drought I have been through, I am glad to get all this rain. Not as much as u but still the pond is full to the brim. And I started my feeding this week for a second per day per feeder. And like you the water is muddy.

Dang, 19 inches in 5 days. I started my feeder last weekend but nothing came up on a test throw.

We received about 7.1 inches locally in February, almost all of it in the last 10 days. Both my ponds have run over, receded a little, and run over again. I hope the drought is over, but we seem to break a drought, then immediately go into another one.

We got right at 11" of rain in 8 days last week here in Leggett, TX. Fish were feeding aggressively before all the rain hit. My siphon was mostly plugged off as it had not run in some time. The water came up to a level that I've never seen here before. I bought a 50' sewer snake and ran it through 5-6 times and the clog finally cleared itself. The siphon sounded like a jet running for several days. Everything is back to normal (full) pool now....but, man it's turbid. Feeding has fallen way off. I will get some new feed from Overton's tomorrow and get the feeder going again for this spring.

...when in doubt...set the hook...

My ponds are somewhat turbid also, but I have decided that's a good thing. I had terrible FA last summer. Have put two doses of black dye in this winter, and still have a little FA showing.

Wow, you guys in TX certainly go big! That kind of rain around here would not be good, though we certainly have been getting larger dumpings than we are used to int he past few years. 3" in 10 days is what we consider flooding rains. 10" would be no roads left.

I laughed at your comment on our big rains and it made me think of your big snowfalls. Most Texans get stranded because of the roads if we get a two inch snowfall. smile

Tracy, in the big cities, we have too many overpasses when it snows. A couple of years ago we got some ice and snow. I decided to head North to Bowie to deer hunt. I made it about 5 miles North of Fort Worth and everything came to a dead stop. Semi's and autos were stopped by people trying to get up the hills where there were over passes. Not a good idea to drink a bunch of coffee before starting a trip like that.

DD1, out here in snow country, we simply "lock the hubs" and drive around the mess created by the unprepared or ill-equipped ahead of us.

Actually, sometimes we help out. Not always, though. I have a friend who plowed for CDOT around Denver for his whole career. He speaks of climbing down out of the plow truck, a behemoth FWD gravel-filled dump, to help someone who'd spun out, and having his feet go right out from under him. He ended up with a worker comp claim while he recuperated from the fall.

I remember having trouble when hunting in Colorado mountains. I thought 4wd and chains made me slide proof. It didn’t. Also found that a winch doesn’t help much without a tree.

Yeah, I forget about that little difference with snow. Just last week I ignored the warnings for snow, and drove home from hockey in 8" of heavy wet snow. I couldn't really tell where the roads were, as I was the only one to go down some of them, so I just stayed in the middle of where I assumed them to be. I was sort of annoyed by being limited to 1/2 the speed limit and the snow hitting the underside of my 'RU.

Had no problems whatsoever.

The next morning we had 18" on the ground, and my poor ATV really struggled plowing the driveway. It was a bit more than it could practically handle all at once. I usually am able to hit 10" at a time.
