I have a 1 acre pond that I just stocked with 80 8-10 in brown Trout. I have 4-5 snapping turtles rangingn from small to medium. Can they eat my trout? Also some of the trout are always hanging out near the surface. Not gasping for air just swimming a few inches below the water. I thought they like deep water. Why are they doing this?
Thx

Snappers won't bother RBT, unless the trout are dead or stupid. I wouldn't worry about them.
The trout are probably looking for bugs/food near the surface. They are a blast to have in the pond, watching them jump out to catch their prey.
