this is whats left of my WM and Dw, Does it look like its dying or regrowing? it is around the edges and what caught it what looks like some sort of alge
Can someone tell what kinda alge this is? Darn it didnt come in very well. I will have to take another pick tomorrow. Its kinda browninsh looking but breaks apart easily when you run a rake through it

Trailsguy , i am not trying to be mean with this post. your air system set up is great for the pond. if you want to fight that crap all of you days there ok. me i would rather be fishing. cut every tree 50' 60' 70' from the pond down. just maybe leave a couple nice ones. either rent a backhoe or dozer and clear eveything out to the earth or hire somebody to do it. disk up the area good. plant some grass. in the fall leave the grass foot high to catch any leafs that blow to the pond. those trees are the problem , leafs , sticks and bare soil washing into the pond. way to many nuitreints. you have to control that stuff. you'll be fighting that pond forever , if you don't clear the area. good luck

i only wanted to have some fun

Understood and no offense taken, I have been mentally debating the same thing, I am willing to put alot of effort into keeping my trees so that there is a type of solitude down at the pond, before I started you couldnt even see the pond for the trees 10 feet away. BUT I can still clear alot of trees and brush that arent needed, much work to be done still but hopefully I can have a clear pond in the mean time I will wait till it cools off a bit before I get after the forrest.

I am a little afraid about taking the trees down on the dam because of the size and what will happen when they rot and the roots causing leaks.

lots of junk trees but there is a bunch of burr oaks, hickory and white oaks that the deer and turkey love to hang around in the fall.
