OP ynotevorgloc Y Joined: Jun 2016 Posts: 3 NE	Hi, I am a new poster with a problem obtaining aluminum sulfate. I've done the necessary testing with respect to water chemistry(have: tot alkalinity 85 ph 7.8 THard 100) on a 22 acre/ft pond with severe clay turbidity. My issue is finding the AlSO4. I've checked with suggested suppliers (co-ops, farm suppliers, nurseries,etc.) Nobody can get it here (Omaha area) in the qty I need. Anybody from Nebraska/Iowa know of a regional distributor?

Look for a Helena Chemical supplier. Agriculture fertilizer places (think large farm supplier, not "hobby" farm supplier). Here. Here are two Helena Chemical places. A Helena Chemical Co 1880 Proctor St � (402) 727-9177 B Helena Chemical Company 900 N Charde Ave � (402) 685-6206 "A" is closer to Omaha than "B", but both seem to be on or near 77. Kelly Duffie's Helena Chemical location is the only one I know of that carries Alum. The pond I cleared in OKC was 20 acre feet and it took 6000 pounds of Alum and 2500 of Hydrated Lime....the new set-up applied the slurries and cleared it in a record time of about 7 hours total.

The farm fertilizer place near me buys chemicals from Helena, and they can get alum. HD does not have Alum on their website, not even in the 4 pound soil amendment/gardening bags. The Helena outlet 4 miles from my home won't even order Alum for me and it is all made in East St Louis.
