Good Morning All - I have a 1/2 acre pond that I build close to two years ago that is fed 100% by rain and groundwater. As the pond was filling, some grass had grown and was eventually covered by the water level. This wasn't much of a problem last yeah, but this year I am getting some growth. I have 5 grass carp in the pond now, but I am curious if there are any ways (chemically possibly??) to remove this. Thank you in advance for your help!
Try some Cutrine Plus and pond dye. You can get it at most feed stores. If you get weeds you will need an herbicide. I don't care what the bottle says, algaecide are not herbicides. A lot of people think Cutrine will kill weeds. You can also mix Weedtrine D with Cutrine to get both algae and weeds. The older the pond the the more need for management. If you don't want to do it than call an applicator for monthly service. The longer it goes the worse the problem gets and don't forget to read the product label.
