Finally had a spawn of something other than tilapia in the pond. I figured they were bluegill....but seem to have a horizontal line down their back...

Any input as to LMB or CNBG?

I'm guessing LMB. What size are they?

Half to three quarter inch would be my guess.

Without a better picture (from the side) I would still guess LMB.

Well...phooey.... was hoping my self supporting cycle had started... I know I have the pink bluegill folks were talking about in another thread...indicating they are in spawn mode.

I see the pink, or grapefruit coloration in cooler water.

"Forget pounds and ounces, I'm figuring displacement!"

If we accept that: MBG(+)FGSF(=)HBG(F1)
And we surmise that: BG(>)HBG(F1) while GSF(<)HBG(F1)
Would it hold true that: HBG(F1)(+)AM500(x)q.d.(=)1.5lbGRWT?
PB answer: It depends.

Boburk,

My baby BG have distinct vertical stripes once they reach about 1 inch or so.

Yup those guys are LMB, see them in my pond also. I can look around shallows and see the water shimmering in pods of those things,100s of them. Never see BG at all or tilapia babies.

I see that most/all my photobucket links in my posts no longer work as well. The danger of not being able to post actual images on the forum and having to rely on links to another website. Hopefully, someone will fix it.

We're getting you Canucks back for sending down all that cold air! We're holding off on the heat! wink

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

I see the second ones Ewest. Howd you catch the little boogers? Aquarium net was a no go for me. They swim away when they see me coming. And I think they're too small for my minnow trap.

That's kind of the trade off. One year we had a 100 days of 100+ temps. I think the norm right now is 80ish.

Well you guys can share some heat any day now. Only 7C as a high today here looking forward to 12C tomorrow. Golf league starts Monday and might still be wearing my winter coat to finish up the last two holes.
