I have parrot feather covering most of my pond.what is the best way to permanently kill it?

More info required before making any suggestions. Is the plant's ID confirmed? What is the pond's purpose? Is the pond used for irrigation? Are fish occupying the pond? What is the pond's surface-area and average depth? Depending upon the pond's size and the various uses of its water, there are several herbicides from which to choose that will control parrots feather. KD
