Tanks in the above system although only 6 foot in diameter are $4357.32 each not including shipping. I'm sure they're the best quality but too rich for my blood. I could buy a nice brand new big pick up for the price of 8 tanks. I'll be using 10 foot Intex pools ($108.00 each) and installing a center drain underneath like this: or elevating the tanks with 6 by 6's and plywood.

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

At the last farm I lived at I didn't have a garage or outbuilding for my new mower so I built this "hoop house". Very simple, very cheap and help up very well. The only change I would make is a more durable tarp that won't break down with the elements. 3/4" PVC, T's and 4-ways 1/2" rebar - half pounded in the ground, the other half the PVC slips over Front door framed out of 1x2"s Tarp 3/4" poly cut to 4-6" pieces and sliced down the middle. These were used to be spread, and clamped the tarp to the PVC ribs. Like most things, I tend to go overboard. This could have been much smaller to house the mower!

That's neat Keith. We have one with clear plastic over part of the garden as an early spring greenhouse. But with gusts up to 80 mph here I need a steel frame and durable material to prevent exposure of the system to the elements 24/7 365 days of the year. I think this commercial unit might fit the bill.

Mine held up in winds and weight of snow, but 80 mph winds? Not likely! I'm siding with you on the commercial unit

The back yard chicken raisers make hoop coops out of cattle panels from farm supply places - TSC has them don't know how big you need

I have a couple of the Shelter Logic Round Tops. 13'x20'. They hold up in snow really well. I just laid down some 2x6's around the perimeter and screwed the frame down to that.
Had three of their garage in a box rigs from TSC and they all collapsed one day when we got some heavy snow. The round ones work nice and a guy I know has had one for 9 years, then he gave it to me when he moved, and my brother set it up.
Plan to get a couple more to toss some fish tanks in. Menards usually has sales on these for under $500.00.
PITA to assemble by yourself tho.

Keep the comments coming gentlemen. I see Menards has some similar prices on some up to 32 feet X 12 wide. I wonder if they're the same quality of Farmtek though? Usually the big box stores cut corners.
But not familiar with Farmtek. May be a big box store too?

Now I'm leaning toward a pole building on another part of the property.
I go through these phases… LOL

We have one of those really rugged tarp shelters, and it lasted a whole two years between the UV and wind. It is a shredded mess. Get something a bit more permanent.

I see some of them that get put up and pretty much destroyed in a couple years, but the Round Top Brand I see around seem to hold up. This is the 5th year for the new one I got, and the 10th year for the one my friend gave me. You also need to assemble them correctly. I plan to get another one or two, but I'll build a 2x6 frame deck with plywood floor and mount it on that. The prevailing issue up here at the moment is zoning won't allow a permanent building on my vacant property, or allow a utility power drop without a house built first. Pretty sure I can work around these issues, but it will take time. Gotta love a bunch of city folks that get on township boards in the sticks and change a bunch of rules that will take years to undo. Can you believe, up here in stick land, that it was illegal to have any chickens

FWIW Growing up on the farm, my dad worked around the "permanent structure" issue by building a lot of our hog sleeper houses, toolsheds, etc. on 4 x 6 or 6 x 8 runners. We then drove 2 inch pipe in the ground at intervals and bolted the runners to them. We built some of the bigger structures in two pieces and just pulled the halves next to each other. Never had one blow away and we actually did move one or two on occasion. The runners give you some flexibility. When my dad passed away in 1980, my mom sold those buildings and folks hauled them away on flatbeds.
Years later, my sis had a good retail greenhouse business going and decided to add couple of those hoop style greenhouses covered in plastic to her current setup. She told me she had manpower lined up but asked if I would be foreman on the project. We followed my dad's concept and attached the hoops to runners that were staked to the ground. When she retired, she sold those hoop greenhouses and folks hauled them away without having to deconstruct them. Her permanent greenhouses rotted away.
If you go hoop with tarp or plastic, I have two things to suggest to you. Stretch that cover as tight as you can get it so it doesn't flap in the wind or collect water and make sure you use sun resistant material. The plastic we put on those green houses was still good to go after 10 years and never had to be replaced.
