Hi everyone,
My brother will be in NO for a conference around March 8th and wants to do some inshore fishing. How's the fishing around then? Any recommendations on a good guide?

Venice La is located about a 45 min drive south of N O. Worlds best redfish fishing. So many redfish, I have caught them a bare lead head jig. These are school reds about 16" or so, best for eating. Had 45 in the boat in about 2 hrs. Then moved to catch a Bull Redfish, had a 32" fish on the line within 10 min after the first cast. Lots of guides in Venice and should be pretty easy to book one this time of year. I think Venice is the only good thing there. Bourbon street is good for the first visit but not my cup of tea.

Thanks, Tracy.
He's only going to be in town a couple of days and will be staying in a hotel, so I think he'd rather go for bulls instead of schoolies.
NO is full of great food and live music. Just not on Bourbon Street.

Bocomo -
Have him head over to City Park and fish in-town. That is where I'll be wetting a line here in a couple of weeks.

Does he have a boat or looking to hire a guide?

Pardon, Bocomo... I didn't read your first post very well.
I've had good luck with a guide named Jody Donewar, ph: 504-394-8053. I'd suggest to call him and ask about recent success. My personal experience is inshore fishing shows down after January for speckled trout as cold water usually moves them to deeper waters. Redfish are constant, though, but catching a true bull redfish (15+ lbs) is best accomplished at the furthest extent of inshore.
