We are in a few days of low to mid 60's.

Water temp in the neighborhood pond was just under 44F, and LMB, SMB, HSB, BG, and Golden Shiners were all taking feed.

It wasn't super aggressive, but all were eating.

Tomorrow's gonna be a bit warmer, so I'm going to pack some feed on.

I think my calendar is broken! Forecast for tomorrow is a record 62 with thunderstorms and a possible record rainfall up to 3 inches!

If I was home I would still be feeding. We are having warm temps too. My fish backed off feed around the first of December when we had a lot of cold rain and a cold front come through. Bout the same time I quit feeding last year. So I figured that was it. Couple days later it warmed up, sun came out so threw a little feed in to see what would happen. You would think I had starved the poor things all summer. So I fed for a few more days before leaving for warmer climate but if I was home would still be feeding I'm sure.

Video takes too long to upload on the wi-fi down here. Been here a week and 13 dives so far, averaging just over an hour each.

Thought about posting some pictures on the hunting thread. We go hunting for sea horses every day. Don't kill them though. With a bony ectoskeleton and only 6" tall not much meat on them.

Found 4 so far right out in front of the Inn and another a ways away down the reef. Going to another dive site tomorrow there are supposed to be three.

Sea horses and frogfish are our prize targets. When my wife finds a frogfish she is as proud as any deer hunter showing off a big rack. We ussually don't start finding frogfish till Febuary when they move up to spawn.

I wish the fish in my pond were as easy to view as these in warm clear water. Fish are fascinating creatures. Ran across a porcupine fish and a scrawled filefish that were as curious of me as I was of them. Hung around me for a long time. Lots of young baracuda this year here. More than I have ever seen before in one place. Must have had a good hatch a couple years ago. Packs of them like you would imagine young LMB hunting together.

Cool stuff. Forecast for the next few months here, basically 85 in the day and 80 or so at night. It is rough to take, but somebody's gotta do it. grin

We're getting tstorms tonight - close to .75" here, thunder lightning the whole enchilada. Pretty crazy for December in Nebraska - no ice forecast for at least 2-3 weeks yet. I was ice fishing last November 17 on 3.5"!

Be aware Sunil that some experts say not to feed artificial fish at those temps, as even though they will eat, digestion is poor and it can cause problems especially if temps drop. Had one trout farmer tell me it can kill trout in a pond if there is a brief warm up in winter and they are fed, and then temps drop again.

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

snrub, I might have missed it in earlier post, but where are you? I love the Carrabin islands,(my spelling sucks, dies not look correct frown ) including the Florida Keys. I have made 17 islands, not including the keys. Diving, snorkeling and fishing, I would be there today but having a hard time getting Grandmother away from all the Grandkids. She enjoyed traveling when we were living in Sin smile (not married), but after tying the not, I can't seem to get her away for any long periods of time. We used to fly private plane island hopping, boy I miss those days. frown Have a Pinya Colladia for me while enjoying the tiny Bikini's and sunset. How the heck do I spell Bikini's ? just don't look wright.

Tracy, Doesn't really matter if you know how to spell bikini IMHO as long as you know where to hunt for them. Perhaps Snrub will post a few pics in the hunting thread! grin
