Texas Members,

Does anyone know if there is a store/buisness that stocks Texas Hunter fish feeders in the Houston/Beaumont area? I travel to Houston occasionally and I am trying to avoid $80-$100 shipping fee's.

Thanks

Chad, I bought the three I have through Overton's. you could prob. pick it up to save shipping cost.

As long as we're on the subject of TH Fish feeders, I recently got two of the 70 lb capacity. Query: Should I put them together at home, or try that at the pond?

Only weigh 35 to 40 lbs each, but with the legs on they are pretty long and bulky. I can "borrow" my wife's minivan, if necessary.

I guess it boils down to whether the assembly process is finicky & difficult (do at home), or pretty easy & straightforward (do at pond).

Any suggestions?

Anthropic,
I assembled mine at the pond. Took about 10-15 mins. with a cordless drill & nut driver set.

yep, my first suggestion would be not to ask me to help. smile I always end up with extra screws or nuts or something, unless I do it @ the pond and in that case, I would come up short a piece or two because it rolled off into the water.

+1 and for me the piece in the water would be that funny shaped gizmo you can't run to the hardware store to get a replacement! grin

Let's put it this way - yours truly has assembled 5 fish feeders pondside - essentially everyone is now qualified - I've set an incredibly low bar.

I did mine. They're easy. I even drug mine down a 50 ft run off area.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
