Also...what are these two plants? The first plant is just around the edge of the pond. The second plant is a submerged plant and alot of it has FA growing on it. I also used to have widgeon grass, but the FA has seemed to take it over. FA got all over the top of it and now the widgeon grass is turning brown.

This pond weed in the upper two photos looks incredibly like the one that barely manages to exist around the edges of my 1 acre pond under the watchful eyes (and mouths) of 5 GC. On the basis of that very unscientific observation, I am optimistic about 7 GC controlling it in your pond.

I had that much pondweed in a one acre pond and stocked 7 GC. In the first year, I noticed no difference. However, the next Spring, it was all gone.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

WOW !!! I hope my boys can get that done. A little is nice, but my pond looks ugly with all that sticking up. I like to look out in the morning and see glass. An occasional bass busting on top makes it even better !!!

From the percentage of pondweed coverage on your pond it appears the pond is relatively shallow. Since you already have FA, be prepared to battle more FA when the pondweed is dramatically reduced. Pondweeds absorb a lot of dissolved nutrients from the water. When pondweed is gone more nutrients are now available to grow something else and it will likely be FA since grass carp do not prefer to eat FA. Sometimes when the GC eat the predominate vegetation plankton blooms occur. Hopefully that will happen in your case instead of FA blooms. More time will finish the rest of this story.
