A few weeks ago grandpa and I hit a 1 acre farm pond hard with a bucket of creek chubs. Our total for the week was 7 24 inch catfish and 20 bass 8-16 inches (all kept). A few of the fish had hooks we had lost in their mouths. Probably not the best practice for pond management, but it sure was fun! pictures shortly. Noone knew there were fish in the pond until last year, when we caught 15 good bass in 20 minutes with chubs.

Sounds like fun.
Taking that much biomass out of the pond ought to give the fish that are left room to grow. Probably did the pond a lot of good removing some fish.
