Not to derail OP but this is from my garage RAS a few days ago.
All my mozambique tilapia are recessive gene for color (orange/whiteish) If you see any dark fish in there they are my feed trained black crappie. Sometimes the first fish to the food lose because the crowd behind them pushes them into the air. Sometimes i see flips and other acrobatic moves.
I plan to add the RAS design to my aquaponics thread once it'd done. It's basically a 900 gallon swimming pool i found on clearance for $30 and some blue barrels cut up into filters.
My dang phone doesn't take good video, but what a nice snap-shot..!
Yes this is one of my ponds. I hope to have 2000#+ from this .4 acre pond. Running two kasco surface aerators on each pond, and still having to bump DO in the mornings with a PTO paddlewheel… They are eating me out of house and home… LOL

I don't know RC. It still baffles me as to why in the morning its low. With that many tilapia, shouldn't algae should be non-existent, and probably a lot of other plants? And so then if that is the case, why does it go low during the night if nothing else is using O2? My WAG would be the small phytoplankton or because of less wind at night to create wave action.
