New member and new one acre pond. Trying to figure out what type of aerator I need. I'm 600 feet from my barn, which has power there. I am trying to find out, what size poly line I need to run from barn to pond. Also, what size Gast pump to push the right amount of air that far.the pond is round shape, 9 foot deep in middle, with sloped sides. This is all new to me. I been reading on this site, quite a bit, but still confused. Thanks in advance. I am located in Louisiana.

Welcome to the forum. O.K. your pond is round, and 9' deep. Is it 50' across, 500 feet across, 5,000 feet across? i.e. how many surface acres is it? One acre of water, one foot deep is 325,851 gallons. You want to bring the volume of water that is in the pond up to the surface a minimum of once per day, 2x day is better. There are different lifting rates for different diffusers. It all depends on now many diffusers and how deep they are. See here for a chart of Vertex diffuser lifting rates: http://www.vertexwaterfeatures.com/aeration-lifting-rates If you can tell us how large the pond is, I'll bet someone can tell you how large your airline needs to be. Usually you run black poly or PVC underground to a manifold box at the edge of the pond, then go with self-sinking 1/2"-5/8" I.D. airline in the pond itself. Roughly .5 psi backpressure for every foot of water depth over a diffuser. So to find out what pump you need, you have to look at it's flow chart to make sure it can furnish the CFM of the air needed at the pressure required. In your case, it's 4.5 psi.

He said 1 acre, so it would seem he needs a minimal system. I'd be looking for a compressor that will do 2 cfm.
If we assume 2 cfm /6 psi at compressor and 80F... 600 feet of 3/4" ID line will have a 0.5psi loss. If you drop down to 1/2" ID line, you're looking at 2.5 psi loss.
You can get a 500' roll of 5/8" poly tubing at the big box store for $60. May consider going up a size, but it would suffice.

Jeez. I'd better either slow down reading or get my eyes checked.

I would run 1" poly line to the pond, terminate in a manifold box, and run 2 dual disc diffusers fed by .58" ID Bottomline tubing spread out as fas apart as possible while still staying in 8' to 9' deep water. Use the manifold box to equalize flow going to each diffuser in case there are different length of tubing or slight differences in depth placement between diffusers.
I'd get a pump that would be capable of pumping 3 to 4 cfm at 6 psi at 80°F. Maybe a bit more cfm than you need, but I don't know how the pumps performance degrades over the years.
I'd go with the larger ID feed line to minimize backpressure and the resulting wear and tear on the pump.
