Can anyone tell me for sure what this fish is? I caught it this weekend on the White River and I think it's a long ear sunfish but wanted to be sure... And are they good or bad when it comes to sunfish? The fish is beautiful but just wanted to make sure what it was. Thanks, RC

We call them punkinseeds. One of the most colorful native fish we have.

Looks like a male longear to me. If so, they usually don't get very large. A big one for us is around 6-7"
