Hello Jason,
One item that you might have overlooked is if you are doing any lawn fertilization around the pond which will add phosphorous to your new pond and boosting the FA growth. Just thought I'd add piece to this existing thread in case you are fertilizing lawn around edges of your pond or have a water source coming into the pond that could be bringing in excess nutrients.
