Redhead Duck just showed up yesterday.
This is a duck I have never seen before. The pond is getting interesting already.
The Redhead Duck (Aythya americana) is a medium-sized diving duck, 37 cm long with an 84 cm wingspan.

I had a flock of these in one of my ponds a couple days ago. I do not remember ever seeing them before.

We shoot a lot of them in Maryland, there number were knocked back for some time in the early to mid 90s but they have made a strong come back.

Amazing....I haven't visited PondBoss for months. Tonight I opened it and saw your duck pic. Today we had two pair of Redhead ducks spend the day on our pond...have never had them before.
