I sure do.

My 4 acre LMB, BG pond has hardly any structure at all. I don't believe there is a rock in there bigger than a pebble.
This pile of structure has just been sitting there on the farm for years.

First to be clear, its the farmers pond, not mine. But I am the only one who fished there last year. And I have total permission to manage it.

The farmer is an elderly guy and kind of old fashioned. The pond is 50 years old and has always looked the same. Believe me, he is not the kind of guy who would ever have a pond with concrete ferries with wings blowing horns around the pond or anything like that.

I have to somehow talk him into letting me put some of this in the pond for LMB to hold on and for crayfish and maybe other forage to have habitat.

Crayfish habitat.

I will be stocking crayfish in the pond this spring.

These bricks have been sitting in my garage for years. I got so bored with cabin fever that I mortared them together in groups of two. Each one is 4 1/2 inches tall and the holes are 1 1/2 inch holes. Should be perfect for crayfish.

I got 40 of these, that's 120 holes.

Any idea where in the pond to put them? All together in a big pile? Do crayfish prefer horizontal or vertical holes? Does it even matter? I figure with these in combination with the flat rocks I could make crayfish condos.

So it's an existing pond? You gonna use the 'set it up on the ice and wait for spring' method of placing the structure?

Yes, the pond was stocked with LMB and BG 50 years ago. Never managed since except very light recreational fishing.

The ice here is not thick enough to walk on.
