My name is Brian Holmgren and I am a pond owner. Who knew it would be a bigger challenge than a swimming pool; ahhh, the joys of being naive. My wife and I are both retired from the Air Force and we bought 25 acres just a few miles from Whiteman Air Force Base. I taught high school science for 9 years after I retired, and now teach developmental math at the University of Central Missouri. Our 25 acres is split between pasture, woods and a 2.5 acre pond. I just made my first post with information on my pond history. I'm trying to get our pond back to something we can toss a line into and not get fouled up in coontail and that isn't covered by a blanket of coontail. I'd sure appreciate you looking at my more extensive post on my pond history and let me know if my assumptions are right and my plan of action sounds reasonable. I most interested in ways to get rid of the muck with the water staying in place and if getting some more Biohaven island to help move the growth into something controlled. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
