Not sure how widespread the cicada hatch is, but they're all over the place here. For about a week now they've been crawling out of the ground and hatching out of their shells. First thing we realized was that the chickens love 'em Then we realized the dog thinks they're good-boy snacks! So my daughter and I put one on a hook... Real good action on the water And as you might expect, the HBG tore 'em up!

We're right on the edge of this hatch, so they are limited in numbers here. Where I work they are all over the place. When a big hatch came out in 2004, it was some of the best SMB fishing I ever had. They went nuts chasing after baits that imitated them.
