This weed has taken over our pond this year almost overnight. There was a little last year and we manually removed it. We have a 1/2 acre pond and its already 1/2 covering it. What is it and how do I permanently kill it?
I would spray it several times over the next month or so in sections. Pennywart grows like kudzu, so I normally start spraying at the outer edges, and move in. I've had the best results with Rodeo and a surfactant.
Also, If you see one sprig left, spray it because it's as bad an invasive as we have around here. It will Winter during a drought, and come right back in the Spring when the water rises back to it.
