Hi all. I've visited this site from time to time while looking for answers/advice. Finally joined tonight. Great site! I have two small farm ponds and am struggling to get them going. Looking forward to any and all advice. Cheers!, Rick

Welcome neighbor. I'm just west of Winchester, off Route 50.
Please feel free to ask any questions you might have. Tell us a little more about you and your ponds, and post some photos if you have them.

Thanks Ken! I will post pics of the ponds later this evening. I am having trouble with seepage but think I am on the right path to stopping it!

The next couple of weeks are pretty busy with Apple Blossom, local river cleanup, and end-of-school-year activities for the grandkids.
But, I get to your side of Winchester several times a week.
If you would like, maybe we could find a time to meet. I have a little bit of experience with ponds and pond problems.

Hey Rick, welcome from a Chesterfield fellow. You live in beautiful country. We go up your way when we visit our son in Bristow. If you post what your goals are there are several people(not me) that will tell you how to set your ponds up. Good luck.
Two ponds, 13 and 15 acres on the Mattaponi River.

Kenc, Thank you. We have grown to love it here. Nothing like a small town community! Right now my goal is for my ponds to hold water. lol! Once that is accomplished I would like for myself and my daughters to be able to fish for fun and dinner when desired. I love to bass fish but would much prefer to eat catfish and Bluegill. Regards, Rick

Welcome to the forum Rick from another Virginian. There are many beautiful ponds in your part of the state. Can't wait to see some photos!
