Do albino CC spawn? Was thinking of getting a few for the pond just for eye candy?

I believe in catch and release. I catch then release to the grease..

I too want some albinos as a novelty. I think albinos are just channel cats that have the albino gene. So I guess if they have the right environment they would spawn, but if they mated with a regular channel cat would their off-spring be zebra or dalmation looking cats?

Had an albino delivered with cc in the mid 90's and later noticed small cc with white patches a several years later when rotinoned pond. The albino was short bodied with a big head. Pretty much became a family pet. Just quit showing up for feeding one day & do not know what happened. The fish was tuff and had even survived the county scaling water lines and getting chlorine into the pond.

Yes, albino CC will spawn if given the same conditions as regular CC. Albinism is a recessive gene. If both parental fish are albino, their offspring will all be albino. So, of you only stock albino CC, they will produce all albino offspring. Now if you mix both normal colored fish and albinos, then you will get a mix. Obviously through predation, the albino CC are far more likely to be eaten long before they get to a harvestable size.
