Hello, I've been reading the topics on this site for some time now and thought that I would join. I find the site very interesting and informative with lot's of great pictures and stories. A little about myself. We live in Eastern TN where the wife and I along with our 3 kids operate a farm. We raise cattle, pigs, chickens, dairy goats, and rabbits along with my Plott hound hunting dogs. We hunt coons, bear, and hogs with our dogs and deer, turkey and squirrel hunt. We love to fish and be on or near the water. My 6 year old son imparticular LOVES crappie fishing with me but we also fish for trout, catfish, walleye and perch. We live within walking distance of a large public lake but, we want to create a pond closer to the homestead for the kids to enjoy like the wife and I did growing up. There's so much that can be learned playing around and fishing in the creeks and ponds of Eastern TN. We currently have 2 small ponds that have been neglected over the years and since we now have sole ownership of the farm we are in the process of rentovating 1 of them. It's not going to be a large pond, close to an acre of so, but, we hope to one day build a much larger pond in a better location. Using our farm equipment and the tiny backhoe attachment that we have is taking some time but, we will get it done none the less. I am sure that I will have lots of questions and look forward to posting some pictures of my own. Even thou my project is no where near the quality and workmanship done by the others that I've saw here. I have great admiration for those of you guys who have created such works of art with the land. Thanks for reading.... Daniel... AKA....Crappie King

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
