My symantec warnings keep popping up when I visit the Pond Boss site today. It is reporting a "downloader" warning. May be a suspicious link in a post or an ad position on the pages. Happens repeatedly. Anyone else seeing that?

Others have reported this as well and it is tirelessly being worked on by Dwight as I type this. I'm confident it will be resolved soon. Thanks Captain!

I hope I'm not letting anything out that shouldn't be public knowledge. Behind the scenes, there are quite a number of people who keep things going smoothly, keep things civil, keep spammers somewhat controlled, and ... An un-named PB members who is key in controlling these issues posted (behind the scenes), things like this in the last few hours: I am feeling especially irritated at hackers today. mad mad mad We first started seeing this particular virus warning yesterday. We are working the issue. It is only happening on certain software/computer combinations. For instance, it isn't affecting my Android devices, and so far, it isn't affecting my Windows 7 computers with certain security software. We don't believe it is affecting all computers running various Windows SP (Service Pack) versions. We know it is happening on other websites/forums similar to ours, where many Pond Boss members are also active. We will keep you posted. We have greatly increased our surveillance. We have moderators, and others, watching the site nearly 24-hours a day. If you have a problem, please post it. Thanks, Ken

Mozilla on PC seems to be OK.

No issues here either. Both IE and Mozilla work fine. Over at BBG, I have had to switch to Mozilla exclusively. Lots of members having problems with IE.
Edit... as I hit submit on this post, a window opened advising me to install a Chinese text/character pack... this in IE.

If we accept that: MBG(+)FGSF(=)HBG(F1) And we surmise that: BG(>)HBG(F1) while GSF(<)HBG(F1) Would it hold true that: HBG(F1)(+)AM500(x)q.d.(=)1.5lbGRWT? PB answer: It depends.

I am getting the same Downloader issue. fsWb7HFo.vbs
My tech guy went to the site from his machine outside of my office and didn't get the issue, but he also didn't log in.
That is all I know as I am not a computer guy. I trust you both fish smart and computer smart guys will kill this issue soon.

As of this time, I don't think we know what we are dealing with. It first hit us yesterday. Many other forum sites, similar to ours, are dealing with the same website/issue.
It is unfortunate, but each day we are hit with many unexpected "new members" and their posts. We do a lot of screening and banning, based on many factors. The "nasties" still get around all of our boundaries.
Bob Lusk, Mike Otto, and a few others keep this site going with a lot of out-of-pocket personal money. Thousands of volunteer hours help "police" the site. Each day we are hit with large numbers of web listings that have no relation to our purpose. We are working the problem as best as we can.
Although we have a lot of vigilant "official" volunteers, please let us know when you see something that is "out of bounds."
Regards, Ken

Kiddie scripts, bots, screen scrapers, and bored kids are ruining the internet. There's nothing of value to be had on most boards, but it doesn't keep people from ruining the experience for the rest of us.
Computer programming pays for most of my toys, and security takes as much time as the application itself. Databases, which run the world, have to be open and secure at the same time, and it's tricky at best.
That's why most all the security guys drive Escalades. Props to the Admin's on the board for fighting this battle. And no, I don't want to see episode 2 of whatever.

This virus if you get the right version is nasty. I have had to re load 2 pc's this week alone because of it. It won't let you run Malware or Microsoft SE. It won't let you click on task manager. It will keep popping up trying to scan your pc and tell you that you need to clean it. It won't even let you run msconfig either. Talks about your firewall has detected an intrusion and click scan to fix the problem and that kicks off the virus. Even just trying to close that window will kick off the virus. If you see anything close to this on your screen and it don't look quite right dont try and close it that will also kick off the virus. Don't click on anything just hit your power button and power down. Most cases when you do that you wont get infected when you boot back up. Then do a full scan of your pc.
The only difference between a rut and a Grave is the depth. So get up get out of that rut and get moving!! Time to work!!

I am not receiving any more warnings today - you may have found the problem. Malwarebytes nor symantec report any infections to my computer. Symantec kept it from being loaded to my computer yesterday. My experience is that these things usually occur with a posters infected link.
