Brother Lusk says 30. It's arbitrary, however. How big are tanks and pools? "I'm just sayin."

Early on, in Pond Boss, founding editor Mark McDonald wrote this....If it's 3 acres and yours, it's a pond. If it's 3 acres and mine, it's a lake.

I manage the fishery in Richmond Mill Pond in North Carolina. It's 125 acres.

But, I've done lots of work on lakes from 5-10 acres.

I struggled with this pond versus lake issue when I first purchased our property. Many of the locals called my pond "Hidden Lake" so that is what I adopted. But I did some research as to what the definition of pond was and found many varying definitions.

When joining Pond Boss I decided to go with screen name Jeffhasapond because....

wouldn't fit in the member name box.

This is a true skill. Respond to a question without getting within a light year of an answer. Bob should be Senator Lusk. That's what I'm saying.

Around here, ponds are used primiarly for watering cattle in pastures. Lakes tend to have a sense of community about them as there will be several homes and a weekend retreat for those homeowners. The size doesn't seem to matter.

Si, Yoda.

Ques. "How do you build an 80 acre Texas pond?"

Ans. "Start out with a 200 acre Texas lake."

Sheesh, I wish it would rain. I'm actually comfy now at 95 degrees.
