In San Diego that's where!

Yep the Pond Boss is over here on the left coast. Bob, Queen Debbie and their lovely daughter Ashley visited us last night. What a treat is was to see Bob and Debbie again and to meet Ashley.

For those of you that have not met him, Bob's love of all things pond related is absolutely infectious. He speaks with passion about anything and everything pond related and and in fact business related.

For those that don't know Bob well it's easy to think of him as the Pond Boss and leave it at that. It's easy to forget that not only does Bob operate a pond management consulting business, Bob runs the Pond Boss magazine, but he is also a writer for the magazine, the editor of the magazine, owns and runs Texoma Hatchery (a fish hatchery business), he also is an owner of this very forum, and who knows what else.

During our discussions we revamped the tax code, solved world hunger, instituted world peace, boosted the economy and created a perfect one size fits all pond management strategy. Unfortunately I wrote all of the notes on a paper towel which I later used to clean up with and now I can't read what I wrote down. D'OH!

Queen Debbie is a gracious as ever. It was fantastic to be able to talk with her again. She is a delight to be around. Bob is a very lucky man to have found Debbie.

And their daughter Ashley. Wow. Intelligent, articulate, well educated, well poised, and beautiful to boot. She describes herself as an old soul and that description is fitting. Quite the young lady.

It was a great visit and I sincerely appreciate that Bob took time out of his hectic schedule to visit with Ricki and I.

Oh and as an added bonus Bob hand delivered to me the July/August 2011 edition of Pond Boss magazine. This is a very special issued and be prepared to be wow'd.

Thank you Bob, Debbie and Ashley for visiting us and making us part of the Pond Boss family.

Yep, but in my defense I was off work at the time and had enjoyed several glasses of El Dorado's finest wines.

Once again I plead insanity (dang that's happening a lot lately).

That was a nice, fresh red wine by the way!

I must say, Jeff and Ricki have a pretty cool life. Their bungalow is perched three stories above cliffside with a dramatic view of the Pacific.

Their air conditioner is fan, wafting a sea breeze across the room. For those of us who normally swelter in blistering hot temps, this was quite a refreshing change.

Jeff and Ricki are wonderful hosts and we enjoyed the evening with them, swapping tales and ideas. I still think Jeff needs to use his accounting skills to go into the pond management business. There's a need for a number-crunching-green sunfish-loving conservationist on the left coast.

Thanks to Jeff and Ricki!
Great fun, and another key member of the extended Pond Boss family.

Wow.

Okay, here goes the responses.

No I didn't don the BCNCP. I leave that at the ranch.

Blacks Beach: Scott knows that this was once a very famous nude beach. The beach was actually named after the Black family that at one point in time owned a vast horse ranch over looking the ocean. The property was sold and subdivided into what now is La Jolla. The city of San Diego banned nude sunbathing there a few years back.

As a side note I have surfed there several times. It is one of the most powerful waves in Southern California because there is a very deep water canyon (Scripps Canyon) that acts like a funnel forcing the water into huge, hollow, powerful waves. Surfing there is not for the weak at heart.

The only hanging 10 we did was at the edge of the balcony.

So you don't surf there anymore?

We wanted to be able to enjoy their company as much as possible so we picked up food from Pat & Oscars, were they around when you lived here?
