Hello from a Vermont Pond Newbie -
I've got a 1/4-acre pond (13-feet deep) with a dam and an 8-inch vertical sewer pipe overflow drain.
Having just stocked with rainbow trout, I have installed a "temporary" screening device (drilled holes in an end cap for the 8-inch pipe), but I'd like a more permanent solution.
Does anyone make prefab screen units for an 8-inch pipe? I am thinking that I should be looking at a screened device which covers an area much larger than the pipe itself to allow maximum drainage and minimal risk of clogging.
Any thoughts? Thanks.

How about a mesh strainer from a kitchen supply store. You might find one that fits. Might not look to bad and would keep out the leaves and sticks.
