Many Forum members may recall my "wife" and I have been together for over 11 years, yet have been perpetually engaged rather than having the legal piece of paper. My wife has a hobby of entering sweepstakes and has a lot of fun winning all sorts of things, iPads, iPods, Gift Cards, a South Texas deer hunt for me and recently a week long vacation in New York's Times Square at the Westin Hotel and some other goodies.

Anyhoo, she fell in love with a "Anniversary" band she wants to call a wedding band. Please help me become an honest MARRIED man by voting for our engagement story on FaceBook if you are a member there.

I've stayed at the Westin. Nice place. If you like the hustle and bustle of a large city, you'll like it there. Bring comfortable walking shoes (I walked from the hotel to the Statue of Liberty) or lots of $ for cab fare.

If you want to get up and personal to some expensive things, swing by Sotheby's and see what's on display.

I went on a walking tour from the hotel(given by a friend of mine) and we walked to Ground Zero (go thru the church near there), Wall Street, Times Square, Statue of Liberty and a few other places that I forgot about. All in the same day. We took a taxi back to the hotel tho! They probably have a good aquarium there too........

O.K. To bed now, finish packing in the morning and hit the road for Big Cedar.

Ground zero to pay my respects is my first and only "must do" while there. It has a special meaning for me because our first picture of us together was taken on the Jersey side of the Hudson with the WTC as the intended photo subject as we waited to take the ferry to the Statue of Liberty. Cathy had lived there 38 years and had never gone.

After having lived with my girlfriend (at the time) for about 5 years, and me thinking everything was going fine, my Dad had to finally tell me "don't be stupid, Boy, close the deal."

So, Rex, don't be stupid, Man, close the deal.

Just voted on it, Rex. Saw a couple of names I recognized. Plus, looks like you got some really fancy dude to vote for your story, as well. Some guy with a real high fallutin' sounding name of Randolph Edgar. Sounds like a Wall Street type.

I stayed at the Westin in Times Square the first two nights of my honeymoon last summer. Very nice place and super location! Good luck Rex, I'll give you my vote!
