Hey guys, I have 50 feed trained bass ranging from 2.5 to 5.0 pounds on the way. I will be feeding Silver Cup feed, 48% protein and 18% fat to them. I have never fed before. Can someone please tell me how much feed to expect to throw per month? Thanks

I bet feed trained bass that big were pretty expensive. Does silver cup even make a feed with large enough pellets to feed that size bass. Have you thought about looking into the Aquamax largemouth feed. Its got a 3/4" pellet so they dont waste as much energy feeding as with a smaller pellet. I think you would have the same results with aquamax and it is probably a little cheaper. Around $30.00 a bag here in Geogia. Its gonna take atleast a few bags a week to keep them fed.

Get some aquamax largemouth pellets. They will pound them and you can feed them one by one and they will fight over them. You should be able to order from your local feed store. Go to purina's website and you can look up a supplier. Worth it. I promise. From my experience, it will not take many bags to keep them fed. Some will go off the feed by themselves. I've got some 5 pound feed trained fish that are growing like crazy. Thank you to greg grimes

They weren't cheap! Silver Cup makes a 3/8 pellet. I was just getting that because the supplier was going to throw it on the truck.

I'll search out the purina dealer in my area and give it a look. Does anyone know if the Texas Hunter feeders will handle Aquamax feeds that large? That is what I have waiting to be filled.

I dont think the texas hunter feeders will throw them. Mine have a hard time with aquamax 600. Sweeney makes a scatter feeder that will throw it.

I checked on the TH feeder and it shows to throw a maximum feed size of aq 600. Is there a way to "adjust" the feeder so it will throw slightly larger pellets?

The Texas Hunter will not throw them. But it will do a great job of jamming them.
Sweeney makes the only feeder that I know of that throws them.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

larryboy Is there a way to "adjust" the feeder so it will throw slightly larger pellets? I have a Moultrie Game feeder that I modified. I just took off the dispursing unit off the bottom of the bucket, took a Dremel and opened up the outlet size just a little. It throws the Aquamax 2000 no problems.
