What is db200?

Anyone ever use GCL for lining a small say 100'x80' pond.
It has a small sink hole between some rocks that has fallen out and I have a subcontractor who is in the landfill lining business that says he has 15 rolls of GCL that he will give me. He says the gcl will just need to be overlapped a foot and place a thin layer of soil over top of it.

I am a grading contractor in east TN and just finished a landfill sight up in Wise county VA where these guys subcontracted all the liner work from us. Another thought he had was that with the 60mil HDPE lots of times manufactuers would have rolls that are short or maybe measure 55 mils instead of 60 mils that he can get for pennies on the dollar.

I used to tournament bass fish all over the country but now I run Field Trials with Labrador Retrievers, so my ponds have lots of points and irregular shorelines to challenge the dogs to swim straight. I have one pond that is about 5 acres and am working on fixing about 3 other small ponds on my property to train and have FT's here. By the way I have tons of structure rock piles and old pipes and manholes along with wood structure in my big pond. I had Jeff Slimpke from SEPM help me with the stocking and he did a really good job.

I had all kinds of trouble with my big pond with sink holes falling out and still have a slow leak. I don't want to fight those battles again thats why I am wanting to just go ahead and line them and be done!!

Any good ideals on lining materials, I tried the bentonite out of like Alpine Tx and don't like that option either I want a good HDPE or GCL or am open to other suggestions.
Thanks
Chad

A DB200 is either a clockmakers lathe made by Unimat or an obsolete Russian Dual purpose motorcycle....very interesting items.....however not much help in your current situation.

Some have reported good results with DB100 and DB200. Others have been a waste of time, $, and sweat.

Liners have to be used on a smooth surface and have to cover the entire pond, ending above the water line. It sounds like a liner would be a character builder in your case.

Mike Otto did an article in Pond Boss magazine a couple of years ago on liners. Give him a call at 800 882 3478

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
