During a long and protracted conversation with Zep he issued a challenge to me.

"JHAP", he said, "with your chiseled abs and manly demeanor, I am quite sure that you have some outstanding photographs of memorable events that occured during 2009. Why don't you share your most favorite of those photographs." {I may have paraphrased and or completely made up this conversation.}

Okay, here's how the conversation really went...

That's quite a challenge.

I think I'll go with this one.

I call this photo, "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know if there is a bomb is inside or not."

So I am now throwing down the gauntlet to all of my fellow pond meisters.

Post your favorite photo of 2009. It can be funny (we like funny), it can be serious (did I mention we like funny) or it can be a photo in which the subject thinks it's serious but in fact it is actually funny. Got a good photo from 2009? Post it up.

Failure to post a photo may result in me posting a photo that I think best represents you. And you don't want that.

I'm impatiently waiting......

This is not my choice as I reserve the option of using more than one pic. Here are a couple to start.

"So," you might be thinking, "why did Todd post this picture of someone other than him and why should we get any amusement from it?" Well, dear reader, I understand the question. It's not so much the picture that's funny as it is the backstory that's funny.

This was during our annual winter beach trip to Hilton Head, SC, in February 2009. AJ, my son who is the subject of the photo, wanted to learn how to throw a frisbee, so being the good dad I am, I taught him. Of course, being the proud dad I am, I decided to take a picture of him using his new skill.

Note the wind up he had.

Note the outstanding hip flexion leading his body into the powerful throw.

Note the appropriate strain on his angelic little face as he strains to throw the frisbee as hard as he possibly can to make his dad proud.

Note the blessed absence of presence of mind of any other adult in my family to grab the camera from me and memorialize me, writhing on the sand, doubled over, appropriately grimacing and holding onto my n*ts after AJ's throw connected squarely with my groin and dropped all 280 pounds of me where I stood!

Yeah, that's one picture that would have no doubt made the list, but, alas, this is the best I could do!

Not funny, not serious, except for the gal in the first photo. She is defiantly sizing things up!

A bit older in the house on wheels.

Now she is growling at something outside!

Hey guys, sorry if this photo shoot was a dud, but Luna is My Best Friend! I hope next week goes well.

If you look at Bruce's pants, you'll notice they are wet up to the thighs. He was wading in the shallow end. But, you gotta give him credit for his effort. He did win the fishing contest!

Great story Todd!

That photo of Sunil (with a drink) looks suitable for a caption contest.

No new meds, the are just adjusting one of my personality suppression medications. Apparently I had become, lets see what is the word they used, effervescent, yes that's it, my personality(ties) had become too effervescent.

Love the photos Erick!

Bruce is that TJ peaking out from that hat?

Good stuff, keep them coming!
