I have a 2 acre pond and was looking to add a bottom diffuser aeration with 2 air lines. There is an island, so I wanted one for each side. What are some makes of quality bottom diffusers from your experiences? Also, I have added a large rock pile and was wondering if the type of crawfish shipped from LA for cooking would work in GA ponds? I would prefer a local type, but I have never heard of anyone harvesting/selling them. I can catch a few out of ditches in the spring, but probably not enough to help

I know we have slough's around here in the flood bottoms that you can catch 1000's out of with seines. If you go around them at the right time of year there will be all kinds of people parked down there seining crawdads. It must be soon after they hatch or something because there all around 2" long maybe 3" with pretty soft shells still.
I believe in catch and release. I catch then release to the grease.. BG. CSBG. LMB. HSB. RES.

thanks Jeff and that sounds awesome Bluegillerkiller! I have used a net to catch some out of ditches. I have also caught some (a different species from their looks) out of creeks with traps. I'll have to look for a spot like you are talking about. As for the bottom diffuser, I am strongly considering a Vertex system. I just didn't know if there were any problems there, or better options on the market.

I've got a vertex with two diffusers and have had no problems. As for the crayfish, I got mine from greg grimes from aquative env. Shipped to my house and no problems.

I've got a vertex Air 2 on the way, and have spoken with Matt Morgan of lakework about the crayfish (and numerous other stuff). Things are definitely moving forward!
