Gayle here from Pond Boss HQ. We are planning our Pond Boss Holiday greeting card and need your participation. There is a very special evergreen tree at LL,2 and we have decided to decorate and photograph this tree for the 2010 Pond Boss holiday card. We want to use lures or special decorations sent in by our Pond Boss Ask the Boss Forum members as the theme for the tree, with your name and city/state written on or attached. If there is a special story associated with the lure or decoration, please share that as that as well. You'll, of course, receive a card in return and the story about this special tree. It will also be interesting to see which decoration travels the farthest to arrive, etc. (There's a story in there, I just know it!)

Thanks so much. Any questions, please call me at 800-687-6075, email gayle@pondboss.com or send me a PM. Below is shipping info. Be sure and include your mailing address so we can send your special card.

Deadline is October 15th to receive here at our office.

Maybe I should send in my live shiner the day before the photo shoot.

The Traveling Lures stop at LL2...that sounds like a great idea. How can we make that happen? We can have a special place on the tree for these on photoshoot day... then send them on their way.

My father has a small bait store and used to always put the tree in a styrofoam minnow bucket and decorate it with old lures and used the red and white bobbers as Christmas balls. People started stealing the antique lures so he stopped doing it all together. Last year he decided to do one decorated with dollar bills. He had a counterfeit $100 bill someone paid with and the bank had caught.. he added it to the tree as a joke. Surprisingly, someone stole it as well. Hopefully they will get busted trying to use it.

Hey Gayle, I have one to send. I've had it since a kid, I am now 50. It is one of the first I ever bought. It's a little Mepps spinner, real deadly that is on BG, Crappie and SMB. No "made in china" stickers on this one!

I just received it a couple days ago, and have it until the 3rd, and then I think it goes to Todd after that.

There is such a thing as a "Golden Shriner," and I believe it would make for a more festive, but not less stinky, Christmas ornament.

Theo, can I get a witness?

All credit for that picture goes to Theo. He did quite an expose on the forum a few years back. It's a gut buster.

Just for you http://www.pondboss.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=62124&page=1

All done. Bob has the lures scheduled in for slot 26, meaning they arrive just a couple of days before Christmas from whomever has them last before that slot.

Cool idea!

Gayle,

So I am assuming that Bbjr is sending traveling lures directly to Bob.

The 17th is 3 days after the traveling lures should have been sent to me. I don't have a problem with this except I'll be up at my pond property. I'll contact DIED and see if it would be OK for Bob to mail the lures to DIED's house and then I can pick them up from him. The lures will have to be mailed within a day or two after the 17th though.

Please get some photos of the Traveling Lures on the tree and post them.

What a great addition to the Traveling Lure's story!

Thanks, Jeff. We so appreciate your flexibility. I will call your post to Bob's attention as well... I know he'll appreciate and it will be very special to have those lures on the tree during the shoot.

Thanks again!

No problem at all Gayle, and if the boss has a chance during his hectic schedule to throw one of the lures in a LL2 pond please encourage him to do so - that would be awesome! (Photos and story would be required). laugh
